“Leading with Integrity, Vision and Courage”

Radhika believes that true leadership is about setting a clear vision, inspiring confidence and guiding others towards shared goals with integrity and accountability. To her, a great leader creates an environment where everyone feels empowered to do their best work.

Collaboration, trust and resilience are at the heart of her leadership philosophy. She believes that leading by example and prioritising the greater good leaves a lasting and positive impact on both people and outcomes.

Her journey as a leader began early in her career when she was elected as the Young Lawyer’s President at the Law Institute of Victoria. At that time, many young lawyers were leaving the profession due to burnout and lack of work-life balance. Radhika took this as an opportunity to drive change in how the legal industry supported its young professionals. This experience taught her the importance of courage, empathy and the power of collective action.

Radhika leads with five core values – Integrity, Vision, Resilience, Empowerment and Accountability. Her leadership style is participative and adaptable. She encourages open input and collaboration, but she also understands that every situation requires a different approach.

One of the toughest decisions she faced as a leader involved upholding integrity within a not-for-profit organisation where she served as Chair. When a committee member misused organisational benefits for personal gain, Radhika acted with both tact and firmness. She sought external advice to ensure the process was fair and objective, showing that doing the right thing, even when difficult, is essential for true leadership.

During times of uncertainty or change, Radhika focuses on staying calm, communicating openly and showing empathy. She draws strength by focusing on what she can control and maintaining routines that build resilience, such as running, meditation and yoga.

As a law firm partner, she leads across generations and cultures, ensuring trust and inclusion by listening actively, using inclusive language and celebrating diversity.

Radhika is often the first South Asian woman in many of her leadership roles. She hopes her journey inspires other women of colour to step into leadership with confidence. Her proudest impact was overhauling the governance model of an industry organisation, creating long-term inclusivity and clarity of purpose.

She continues to grow through lifelong learning and self-reflection.

Her advice to future leaders: “Lead with integrity, empathy and curiosity – and never stop learning”.
