An Afternoon of Inspiration, Cricket and Leadership
Location: Werribee Indoor Sports Centre, VIC
Date: 26th October, 2025
The latest edition of The Leader Speaks at Werribee Indoor Sports Centre brought together an extraordinary lineup of leaders, innovators, cricketers, and community change makers – all united by one purpose: to inspire through stories of leadership, resilience, and impact.
The event featured an engaging conversation between Aaron Finch, former Australian cricket captain, and Divesh Sareen, entrepreneur, TEDx speaker, and author of The Indian Mate. Together, they shared powerful reflections on leading with integrity, staying resilient in adversity, and fostering collaboration across teams and cultures.
Highlights from the Day
The evening opened with a Welcome to Country, acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land and paying respect to Elders past, present, and emerging. The day was filled with inspiration – from short interviews with sponsors and game changers led by Holly Stearnes, to the leadership discussions and the recognition ceremony.
Mathew Hilakari MP addressed the audience with his insights on community, fairness, and the role of government in shaping positive change.
The stage then welcomed Divesh Sareen, who spoke passionately about purpose-driven leadership, his journey across business and social impact, his upcoming platform Seeking Guru, and lessons from his TEDx talk.
He was later joined by Aaron Finch & Stephanie Simeone for a dynamic panel session that explored the parallels between sport and business leadership – from handling pressure to building trust and leading diverse teams. Their candid discussion offered both wisdom and warmth, leaving the audience energised and reflective.
