“Leading with Heart: A Journey of Empowering Others”

To Ravi, leadership means serving others first. It is about inspiring people to achieve more than they believed possible, while leading with empathy, integrity and purpose. For him, true leadership is not about power or position – it is about empowerment. It means creating opportunities for others to succeed and making sure everyone’s voice is valued and heard.

Ravi’s idea of leadership was shaped early in life. Growing up, his family taught him the values of hard work and community service. They showed him that leadership is not about walking ahead of others, but about walking beside them – helping them find their strength and confidence. Later, while working directly with people living with a disability, Ravi saw how some individuals could be easily overlooked in systems meant to support them. That experience deeply moved him and inspired his lifelong commitment to lead with compassion and action.

A defining moment in his leadership journey came early in his career as a Disability Support Worker, when he supported a participant to move into their own home for the first time. Through the process, Ravi saw how much difference genuine, consistent support could make – helping someone regain confidence and independence. This simple but powerful experience showed him that leadership starts with listening, understanding and taking action to make a real difference. It also strengthened his resolve to build Sunrise2Sunrise – an organisation grounded in inclusion, dignity and empowerment.

As Managing Director, Ravi leads with empathy, inclusivity, integrity and accountability. His leadership style is hands-on and people-centred. He listens, collaborates and leads by example – ensuring his team feels valued, supported and motivated. Under his guidance, Sunrise2Sunrise has grown to support over 350 participants and a team of 700+ “Life Changers”, helping people with disability live independently and with pride.

Through tough decisions and times of change, Ravi stays calm and focused on purpose. He believes that adversity is also a chance to grow, innovate and strengthen relationships. For him, success is not measured by titles but by impact – the positive difference made in people’s lives.

Ravi’s dream is to continue expanding inclusive, person-centred support – both in Australia and abroad. His legacy is one of empowerment, compassion and community.

As he often says, “Leadership is not about being in charge, it’s about taking care of those in your charge”.
