“Finding My Voice to Help Others Find Theirs”
For Christine, leadership means being a firm and fair advocate for a cause. Her understanding of leadership began when she arrived in her new country as a refugee. Safety, belonging and opportunity were not guaranteed – they had to be spoken for. From those early days, Christine learned that leadership is not about power; it is about speaking up and standing up for others. She built businesses that promote fearless communication, helping people use their voices to create real change.
A defining moment in Christine’s leadership journey happened on a busy corporate trading floor. She was one of only two Asian women there and was often mistaken for her colleague. One day, after being called the wrong name again, she calmly replied, “I’m not Amanda either.” That moment of courage, small but powerful, made her realise that speaking up can start cultural change. It taught her that leadership begins with honest communication.
Christine’s leadership values are rooted in equity and inclusion. Growing up in a culture where women and children were often not heard, she made it her mission to give voice to the underrepresented. Her leadership style encourages open dialogue, fairness and respect. Every opinion matters and every voice deserves space at the table.
The toughest decision Christine ever faced was during the early days of COVID-19, when she had to tell some of her staff that their jobs could not continue. She handled this painful moment with honesty and compassion, working to support them financially and emotionally. It was, she says, the hardest part of leading – but also a reminder that leadership is about care, not comfort.
In times of uncertainty, Christine believes strength comes not just from within but from the network around you. She leads through open communication, clarity and trust – drawing support from advisors, friends and family.
Her proudest legacy is building her business from a garage into a platform that empowers children, professionals of color and underrepresented voices. Through education and communication, Christine continues to transform lives and communities.
Her advice to future leaders: “Be a lifelong learner. Keep your mind open and your voice kind. True leadership begins when you help others find their voice”.
